So I’ve been online listening to new music from Dead By Sunrise and Chevelle, doing some work, just minding my own business when I went on MMA Junkie and stumbled upon some loser with a trendy tattoo completely degrade his ex-girlfriend and one of the best MMA training camps in the country.
I’m like, “What? Seriously?” I actually had to do a double take and find out what exactly was going on. That’s when I found out bigtime MMA loser Kit “Male Cheerleader” Cope said some extremely disrespectful things about Xtreme Couture, but more importantly, Gina Carano. I have never spoke to anyone from that specific fight camp or Carano herself, but his comments infuriated me. I’m not going to go “Chris Crocker” on anyone and say, “Leave Gina Alone,” because I’m sure Johnny Dunn is doing that right this minute. But I feel the need to weigh in.
I understand the media wanting to talk to Cope. He dated Carano in the past, so he could provide insight from different angle. I get that. Hell, I even understand him saying that she should leave Xtreme Couture and go back to her roots because if she doesn’t, she’s going to get her ass kicked. Everyone’s entitled to an opinion, right?
By the way, I just want to point out that Kit Cope has a 2-4 MMA record, and follows the Diaz brothers around like a prison bitch on call. And he was also a male cheerleader with big ears. And because of that, this makes the loser with a dream an expert at fighting.
But then he completely started shitting on Xtreme Couture and their whole fight team (calling them “Xtreme Fashion”). He basically said that Shawn Tompkins and Randy Couture don’t advance anybody’s careers, and that their whole fight team is sham. For those of you who might have forgotten, that fight team includes Jay Hieron, Tyson Griffin, Gray Maynard, Forest Griffin, Vitor Belfort, Frank Trigg, Mac Danzig, Stephan Bonnar and Martin Kampmann – all guys who are top contenders in their respective weight class.
Again, I just want to point out that Kit Cope has a 2-4 MMA record, and follows the Diaz brothers around like a prison bitch on call. And he was also a male cheerleader with big ears. And because of that, this makes the loser with a dream an expert at fighting.
Anyways, you figure with all of Las Vegas annoyed by Cope’s plea for attention, that maybe there isn’t any more controversy. Right? Nope. He then proceeded to tell guest hosts ‘Mighty Mo’ and Ariel Helwani that Carano had “a whole lotta ass.” To me there’s nothing wrong with that – I love a girl with junk in the trunk. Between that and her gorgeous face, it’s clear that she’s been blessed by God. Happy face.
But check it: this is where my happy face turns into a not-so-happy face. Cope would imply that she had fake breasts, that he was in possession of a sex tape featuring him and Carano, and that he “smashed a lot finer chicks than that.”
This is where it goes too far. Way over the line and way disrespectful. See, here’s the thing: if you choose to engage in this kind of talk, you don’t do it in public. This is boys’ talk. The world doesn’t need to know this.
But Cope doesn’t care. What makes me even angrier is he considers Gina a friend. It’s like how can you say that about someone you call “your friend”? You say you talk to Gina all the time. She is hitting the prime of her career and then you say something reckless like that? Sounds like you’re a shitty friend.
And as far as “smashing a lot finer chicks than that?” Listen son. Gina Carano is one of the most beautiful ladies on the planet and to say something like that is just a disgrace. And if you truly feel that way, then check yourself: you might be a homosexual – not that there is anything wrong with that. If this is your way of coming out of the closet in your cheerleader uniform, then cool. Go get fabulous.
At the end of the day, there are four things that have been made absolutely clear: a) Kit Cope is a scumbag, b) Shawn Tompkins handled this situation with class when he was interviewed by Raw Vegas, c) Kit Cope is a scumbag and d) Kit Cope is jealous of Gina Carano.
Carano is the face of women’s MMA and the media is fixated on her right now. Everyone cares about Gina Carano and nobody cares about poor little Kit Cope, and his trendy little tattoo, and his big goofy ears, and his shitty segment on MTV’s True Life (by the way, Frankie Edgar stole the fucking show on the MMA edition).
The only thing Kit Cope will ever be famous for is tapping out at the end of the first round of his lone UFC Fight against Kenny Florian, and then heading back out of his corner to get completely massacred in round two. Or getting busted for steroids after losing to “Razor” Rob McCullough in WEC for the organization’s vacant lightweight title.
And for the last fucking time, I just want to point out that Kit Cope has a 2-4 MMA record, and follows the Diaz brothers around like a prison bitch on call. And he was also a male cheerleader with big ears. And because of that, this makes the loser with a dream an expert at fighting.
But something tells me even the Diaz brothers want to stay the fuck away from that loser.
Perhaps its time for Cope to return to male cheerleading. From what Danny Acosta tells me, it’s more dangerous.

Wow, you went hard at Kit Cope. The guy is more of a loudmouth more suited to television and what not. He’d be a perfect candidate for the ultimate fighter show, he can play the heel or whatever. I can’t say you’re wrong about his fighting skills.

Nah. I’m not trying to start a fight. I probably would’ve been meaner if I wanted that.
I mean, I give Cope some credit. He was a Muy Thai Champ, but he hasn’t been able to put it together AT ALL in MMA. And nowadays, he’s doing a lot more talking than he is fighting, and the talking he is doing is disrespectful. It’s not entertaining. It’s not funny. It’s an annoyance and tasteless. And for a dude who hasn’t done much of anything, he shouldn’t really even be doing any kind of talking.
Jus’ my thoughts though.

i agree ginais hot as fuck but she should call himout not u and if she can be above ” a jealous x ” then mabey we should take note and not give somebody more air time just my thought

Thank you for this blog. When I heard that interview, those comments made me want to kick Kit Cope’s ass.
And… even though I’m a girl who is just training for my first MMA fight, I still think I could. He sucks.

This is one of those times the UFC needs support, a card plagued with injuries and I’m sure the UFC did whatever they could to try and fill the gaps.
